"The Storage Tank Systems for Petroleum Products and Allied Petroleum Products Regulations establish requirements for storage tank systems under federal jurisdiction.The Regulations came into force in 2008 to help reduce the risk of releases of petroleum products, such as leaks and spills. At the time, about 15% of systems under federal jurisdiction were more than 20 years old and had no leak detection, corrosion protection, or structures to contain releases"--Page [1].
