"The history of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) reveals certain re-occurring trends. By examining those trends I hope to illustrate how effective advocacy may proceed in the future. Interestingly enough, at the start of his legal career David was faced with impending Federal legislation, and a comparable need to work at improving the provincial legislation. As I write this, almost 40 years later, at the start of my legal career, there is similarly impending Federal legislation, namely Bill C-81 the Accessible Canada Act and a pressing need for effective implementation of the AODA, both of which David Lepofsky is heavily involved in"--Introduction, page 3.
