"This report is in response to a request (Appendix 1) from A. Mudroch of the Environmental Contaminants Division, NW RI for unpublished data on the nearshore sediments of the south shore of Lake Ontario from Niagara to Jordan. Information is required to assist in the planning of a study on the influence of the Niagara River on the distribution of contaminants in the bottom and suspended sediments of the nearshore zone. The report is a compilation of data on the properties and distribution of surface sediments, sediment thickness as measured by jetting to refusal and the properties of short sediment cores for the area shown in Figure 1"--Introd.
