"A survey of available Solar Array Orientation and Power Transfer (SAOPT) mechanisms in North America and Europe, with a view to application on the Canadian Multipurpose UHF Satellite project, has been conducted. In general, it has been found that design philosophies vary considerably with each manufacturer. These variances are mainly in the choice of drive systems and lubrication philosophy. A general recommendation regarding the choice of a drive system and lubrication philosophy has been made for the Multipurpose UHF satellite"--Abstract.
