Orimulsion Shoreline Studies Program : sediment interaction experiments / by John R. Harper and Michael Kory.En40-243/159E-PDF

"Orimulsion is an emulsion or suspension of bitumen particles in water and can be used as a coal or fuel oil substitute for use in power plants and other industrial applications. While there has been considerable study on Orimulsion behaviour at sea and on the impacts of spilled Orimulsion on coastal resources, there is limited information on Orimulsion-sediment interaction on shorelines. In particular, the penetration and retention characteristics are of interest to spill response planners as are the potential suite of protection and cleanup options that may be useful in treating a spill. This project addresses these knowledge gaps"--Introduction, page 6.
