"Data on four eutrophication indicators, collected in the years 1966 to 1975 by the Canada Centre for Inland Waters, have been summarized. The data for offshore, near-surface waters are condensed to summertime averages for each year, to search for trends. The parameters are: Secchi transparency, chlorophyll a, particulate organic carbon, and total phosphorus. Basins examined are: Lakes Superior, Huron and Ontario and Central Lake Erie. Lake Michigan is omitted"--Abstract, page 4.
