"The $1.3 billion to protect Canada’s nature legacy, announced in Budget 2018 is the biggest investment in nature conservation for Canada. Canada has committed that by the end of 2020, at least 17% of terrestrial areas and inland water and 10% of coastal and marine areas will be conserved through networks of protected areas and other effective area-based conservation measures.
