"On 2 February 2021, the House of Commons Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights (the Committee) agreed to conduct a study based on the following motion: That pursuant to its mandate under Standing Order 108(2), the committee study the issue of elder abuse including the insufficiency of current laws in fighting elder abuse… explicitly penalizing those who neglect seniors under their care and how to more effectively combat elder abuse"--Introduction, page 5.
