Dimensional analysis of thermal plumes / by Y.L. Lau and T.M. Dick.: En36-540/02-1973E-PDF

"In the report, dimensional analysis has been rigourously employed to find a new functional relationship between the plume surface area and the discharge of warm water into a lake. The function has been verified and one of the proportionality constants determined from available data. The results are given in a graph which can be used to predict plume surfaces in the future"--Abstract.
