"Results of several field experiments to determine the transverse mixing coefficient are presented. The mixing coefficients are evaluated by comparing observed data with simulated data from a numerical model. Inspection of all available data on the dimensionless mixing coefficient confirms that sinuosity is an important variable"--Abstract.
