"The used building material industry has experienced rapid growth in North America over the last five years. Today, it encompasses private, for profit and private non-profit organizations involved in the reuse and recycle business. This report is based on an industry survey conducted by the Used Building Material Association (UBMA). Its purpose is to explore ways to increase deconstruction activity, specifically where it concerns the reuse of building materials. The report specifically highlights wood and wood-related materials, a type of inventory that appears to have the greatest potential for increased sales and supply. While many of the associations canvassed have recycling services as well, this report focuses on material reuse"--Executive summary.
