"Bill C-2, An Act to provide further support in response to COVID-19 was introduced in the House of Commons on 24 November 2021 by the Honourable Chrystia Freeland, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, and received first reading on the same day. On 2 Decemeber 2021, the bill received second reading and was referred to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance. Consideration in committee was completed on 14 December 2021. The bill completed third reading in the House of Commons, and was also passed in the Senate, on 16 December 2021. It received Royal Assent on 17 December 2021"--Background, page 1.
