"Going Global" is the theme of IMSC '99. Mobile SATCOM now provides very diverse applications ranging from mobile multimedia to inexpensive low-rate data-gathering systems. The design, development and analysis of these applications are explored at the Sixth IMSC. The directions in which research is heading and the attendant policy and regulatory environment also form part of the Conference program"--Foreword.
