"This report follows a motion adopted by the House of Commons Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities on June 2nd, 2023. This motion required the Committee to undertake a study examining the implications of artificial intelligence for the Canadian labour force in different regions, organized labour, workforce sectors, people of diverse age groups, genders, income levels and races, and persons with disabilities. During its study, the Committee heard about the potential impacts artificial intelligence could have on productivity and growth, privacy, and workers with diverse identities, as well as training and supports issues for workplaces. It makes eight recommendations to the Government of Canada aimed at strengthening the ways in which workers are protected, the ethical adoption of artificial intelligence, and better data collection"--Provided by publisher.
