"The heavy rainstorm of July 15-16, 1974 in a remote area of northeastern British Columbia, resulted in a 10-day closure of the Alaska Highway. In this article, the author examines the synoptic weather features and contributing factors to precipitation in the storm. A short discussion of the return period for such a storm and a verification of the Canadian Meteorological Centre's Quantitative Precipitation Forecast are included"--Abstract.
