"The performances of four fine-mesh high-rate screening devices treating combined sewage under wet and dry weather conditions were evaluated. The units tested were: a 1.5-m (60-inch) diameter Centrifugal Wastewater Concentrator (CWC) with 105-micrometre apertures; a 1.5-m (60-inch) long rotating horizontal drum screen (Rotostrainer) with 500-micrometre apertures; and two stationary inclined screens, an 0.6-m (24-inch) wide DSM and a 1.8-m (72-inch) wide Hydrasieve, having 305 and 762-micrometre apertures, respectively.
