"This Juristat article uses data from the 2019 General Social Survey (GSS) on Canadians' Safety (Victimization) to examine perceptions of the police among Canadians living in the provinces. The article has two sections: confidence in the police and perceptions of police performance. … Within each section, findings are presented for the following populations: seniors; persons with physical, and mental or cognitive disabilities; Indigenous peoples; people belonging to groups designated as visible minorities and; sexual minority persons. Information on experiences of criminal victimization are not included in this article"--Page 4.
