Recreation study 2024 : methods report / prepared for Parks Canada Agency.R62-588/2024E-PDF

"National historic sites commemorate the people, places, and events important to defining Canada’s history. They are also important components of Canada's tourism industry. As society evolves, demographically, attitudinally, and behaviorally, historical narratives change, but so too does approaches to heritage programming, and expectations for visitor experiences. It is inevitable that historic sites explore how to adapt their offer in a changing world to remain relevant. This exploratory study sought to better understand what people generally think of national historic sites, how they use them and why, and perspectives on the role of digital technology in heritage programming"--Executive summary, page 2.
