The DREP/AT side-scan sonar system (preliminary version) / L.C. Rempel, G.K. Schattschneider.DR52-11/13-1993E-PDF

"The applied technology (AT) section of the Defense Research Establishment Pacific (DREP) is developing a side-scan sonar system (the DREP/AT Sonar System) for use on an autonomous vehicle. A preliminary towed system was designed and tested in the spring and summer of 1993. It is comprised of some components of the Klein 595 Digital Sonar System, most of which have been modified, and custom modules designed in-house. This combination has produced a high-resolution, low-noise system that performs well as a towed side-scan sonar system. This paper describes the non-proprietary elements of the system, the modifications made to the Klein components, and the trial results"--Abstract (page ii).
