"The objectives of this Standard are to: Ensure that information identified as Cabinet Confidences is appropriately protected and safeguarded from the time it is marked as a Cabinet Confidence and that those protection measures continue to apply for as long as the information remains a Cabinet Confidence. Enable greater flexibility within the Departments when drafting Cabinet Confidences and consulting on information that will become part of Cabinet Confidences"--Objectives, page 1.
