"Attention should be to the depth of a particular station as a means of checking the observer's position. In attempting to chart the results of various Scotian cruises of the past summer (three cruises), much difficulty was encountered with the variations in the depths due to the fact that depth was not taken into consideration when checking the position of the station"--Page [4].
