"Upon petition of the Yarmouth branch of the Nova Scotia Fish and Game Protective Association, the Fish Culture branch of the Department of Fisheries treated Trefry's lake with copper sulphate. The primary purpose of this treatment was to destroy the existing fish population, which was considered inimical to future successful stocking with brook trout"--Page [1].
