"The study of the summer commercial fishery of Great Slave Lake which was begun in 1946 by the Fisheries Research Board of Canada was continued in 1949. Lake trout, Cristivomer namayoush and lake whitefish, Coregonus clupeaformis were the principle species involved. Since the buyers were no longer required to buy inconnu, Stenodus leucichthys mackenzii, they were generally discarded, although a few inconnu and yellow pike-perch, Stizostedion vitreum vitreum were sold"--Introduction, page 1.
