This report compares the abundance and numbers of species of lichens (richness) on young branches in an undirected sampling of chronosequences of stands at eight sites on Vancouver Island in 1995, and lichen richness in a directed sampling of older branches and boles at a single site (Koksilah) in 1996. The objective of this study was to determine if abundance and richness of lichen species was related to stand age.--Page 1
