Workshop on the Reimbursement of Expenditures for Egg and Sperm Donors, meeting report / Prepared by the Intersol Group for Health Canada. : H21-239/2005

This report summarizes a two-day workshop to gather information for developing regulations for section 12 of the Assisted Human Reproduction Act, related to reimbursement of expenditures incurred by egg and sperm donors. The workshop first presented overviews of the two processes, highlighting how costs would be incurred. The open discussion brought forward key concerns, particularly the Act’s restriction on compensation for donors’ time. Health Canada will use the results to develop policy options and regulatory proposals.
