Great Lakes Binational Toxics Strategy 2007 : En161-1/2006-MRC

This report covers the progress made by Canada and the United States toward eliminating toxic substances in the Great Lakes Basin. The report covers Level 1 substances, such as polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), dioxins, and mercury; sediment remediation projects; challenges regarding transport of toxic substances; and environmental progress indicators, such as monitoring of air and fish. By 2006, Canada had reduced high-level PCBs in storage in Ontario by about 90 percent.
