Proposed regulatory amendments related to the exemption from the requirement to provide the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) certificate of origin for certain locomotives and railway freight... : Rv55-5/2012-022E-PDF
This customs notice announces regulatory amendments proposed by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and the Department of Finance to exempt certain locomotives and railway freight cars imported into Canada and for which preferential tariff treatment under NAFTA is claimed from the proof of origin requirement of subsection 35.1(1) of the Customs Act. It is further proposed that these regulatory amendments come into force on July 1, 2012, on condition that the Governor in Council makes them.
