"This is the fifth volume in a series of supplements to the Canadian Statistical Review. The first four volumes were issued biennially starting with 1953, the last being for 1959. The present volume differs from the first four in that it is an Occasional Paper, i.e., it is to be issued from time to time as the need arises rather than biennially. It also differs In that it contains only annual data whereas the earlier volumes contained both annual and monthly data. A selection of the important monthly figures is now carried in another publication called the "Annual Supplement" to the Canadian Statistical Review. (DBS Catalogue No. 11-206)"--Foreword, p. [1].
