"Despite the considerable amount of Canadian legislation governing pesticides and the subsequent large number of agencies carrying out their mandates, a co-operative and collaborative approach to pest management exists within the Pacific and Yukon region. This is largely due to the dedication of the individuals involved but is further facilitated by a streamlined communication structure. Conservation and Protection (C&P) services play a vital role in the pest management process. ... The objectives of the C&P pest management program are the prevention of deleterious impacts on the environment resulting from the use of pesticides and the restoration of environmental qualilty where impacts have occurred"--Exec. summary, p. i.
