“This publication presents the results of a survey of all establishments classified to Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) 864 - Engineering and Scientific Services. It was initiated by the Department of Industry, Trade and Commerce and the Association of Consulting Engineers of Canada who together provided the major portion of the financial resources needed to carry out the survey. In order to provide come comparability with the 1974 study, the publication is divided into two sections. The first section is concerned only with consulting engineering establishments and the second, with all other engineering and scientific services as stated above"--Introd., p. [5].
