"Statistics Canada's IXth annual conference on statistical and economic analysis is being sponsored by the Business and Trade Statistics Field and the National Accounts and Analytical Studies Field of Statistics Canada. The main objectives of the annual conferences are: to provide a forum where individuals from private industry, academia, labour, government and Statistics Canada can exchange ideas and knowledge in the areas of economic and statistical research and analysis; and to encourage and promote the role of economic and statistical research and analysis in determining new data requirements and in improving the quality of existing data. The theme of this year's conference is Economic Growth and Employment. Guest speakers will discuss a broad range of economic and statistical issues with regard to economic restructuring and growth as well as employment"--p. 1.
