"This edition of the Directory of Chemical Industries is the fourth of its kind which has been issued by the Dominion Bureau of Statistics, previous editions having been published in 1919, 1921 and 1933. The present volume brings the information up to date in order to meet the frequent requests that come to the Bureau for complete lists of producers of the many chemicals or chemical products which are manufactured in Canada. In addition, it is believed that a directory of this kind will be a very useful reference for manufacturers, importers and consumers of chemicals and chemical products"--Preface.
