"Pursuant to sections 68 and 74 of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 (CEPA) (Canada 1999), the Minister of the Environment and the Minister of Health have conducted a screening assessment of 72 substances to determine whether these substances present or may present a risk to the environment or to human health. The substances were identified as priorities for assessment as they met categorization criteria under subsection 73(1) of CEPA or were considered a priority on the basis of other human health or ecological concerns (ECCC, HC [modified 2017])"--Introduction, p. 1.
