"The construction and installation of a Goodyear-type floating tire breakwater at La Salle Marina, Burlington, Ontario is documented. A total breakwater length of about 490 m made from 35,000 tires was installed, making it one of the world's largest Goodyear FTB installations. All work was done by a construction firm using professional labour. Topics discussed include the selection and acquisition of construction materials, the choice of construction site assembly techniques, mooring the breakwater, problems encountered, and costs"--Abstract.
