This Highlight draws on a composite measure of acceptable housing that integrates CMHC's housing standards of adequacy, suitability, and affordability into a single indicator: core housing need. Core housing need provides an estimate of the number of households not living in and unable to access acceptable housing. This highlight examines changes in the levels of core housing need between 2001 and 2006.
