This booklet explains the costs of truck idling in terms of wasted dollars, increased engine maintenance, environmental harm, and poor image of the trucking community. It describes the effects of idling and notes that today’s engines do not require idling. It also examines the main reasons truckers give for prolonged idling, refuting their logic and offering other strategies. Intended as a handout for fleet operators.
