The Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada (COSEWIC) is tasked with reviewing the status of species which might be of particular interest and which may require special status designations due to declining populations in Canada. This report summarizes available information on the biology, distribution and population dynamics of Olympia oysters, and evaluates this information to provide a recommendation regarding which category of risk might be appropriate for the species in Canada.
