"The Evidence Review Cycle (ERC) for Dietary Guidance is a systematic approach to gathering, assessing, and analyzing data relevant to dietary guidance. The overarching purpose of the ERC is to formalize the evidence review process and ensure dietary guidance remains scientifically sound, relevant, and useful. This Technical Report reflects Health Canada's review of the evidence on dietary intakes, the health and nutritional status of Canadians, the relationship between nutrition and chronic disease outcomes, and use of existing guidance. It describes the methodology for gathering evidence and presents the evidence base resulting from the 2015 ERC"--Introd., p. 7.
