The main objectives of the Official Languages Support Programs (OLSPs) are as follows: •To promote English and French in Canadian society, and •To encourage the development of Anglophone and Francophone minority communities. The program is delivered through contribution agreements with the provinces and non-profit organizations (NPOs), grants to NPOs, and memoranda of understanding and bilateral agreements with provinces. The OLSP Branch (OLSPB) has an annual program implementation budget of over $342 million.
