"In September 2006, Statistics Canada formed a committee to conduct a review of the quality assurance practices in the production of nine key indicators (e.g. employment, consumer prices, gross domestic product, etc.). The review was carried out on a variety of business, economic and household surveys based on respondent data, administrative data or other survey outputs (i.e. derived statistics). The review was completed in March 2007. This paper describes the review process and summarizes its key findings. It also highlights the benefits of the review to the statistical programs, the individuals involved in the review and Statistics Canada's Quality Assurance Framework"--Abstract.
