Population projections of Registered Indians, 1982 to 1996 / by J. Perreault, L. Paquette, M.V. George with the collaboration of R. Costa.: R5-351/1984E-PDF

"This report presents population projections of Canada's registered Indians, 1982 to 1996 for Canada, INAC regions, districts and bands. It includes a brief discussion of the methodology and assumptions, the choice of projection series and an analysis of the results, highlighting the major emerging demographic trends. These projections have been developed by a component approach, using mainly the data on population, births and deaths from the Indian Register, which provides the historical and most up-to-date demographic data on registered Indians. They are based on the estimated population by age and sex, as of December 31, 1981, adjusted for late reporting of vital events. The projection work was carried out by the Population Projections Section of the Demography Division, Statistics Canada, under contract for the Research Branch, Indian and Northern Affairs Canada."--Preface, p. iii.
