“This report presents the results of a survey of consulting engineering services available in Canada in 1974. It was initiated by the Department of Industry, trade and Commerce in close co-operation with the Association of Consulting Engineers of Canada. Statistics Canada developed and implemented the programme in conjunction with these two groups. This is the first in-depth survey of the consulting engineering industry to be carried out by Statistics Canada although consulting engineers did form part of the service sector of the 1971 Census of Merchandising and Services"--Introd., p.
