"This report describes an experimental audio teleconferencing system installed between Communications Research Centre, Shirley Bay, Ottawa, and the Department of Communications Headquarters, 100 Metcalfe St., Ottawa (a separation of 12 miles). This audio tele-conferencing system is augmented by a variety of visual indicator signals for talker identification and "wish-to-talk", and a number of graphics transmission facilities.It is being used as a research facility to determine characteristics of teleconferencing meetings and desirable technical characteristics for teleconferencing systems"--Summary, page 1.
