"The profession of pharmacy in Canada has embarked upon a voyage into an era of dynamic change and reappraisal of its role in the complexities encountered in the provision of the highest attainable standard of health care for the citizens of our country. Many internal and external forces have combined to render such a re-evaluation necessary, not the least of which has been the dramatic progress recorded, in recent years, in the development of highly specialized medicinal products requiring the formulation facilities of a highly specialized pharmaceutical industry. As a result, the modern pharmacist is called upon to utilize his skill in combining and compounding medicinal agents less and less.
