"The operating results of miscellaneous kinds of business are presented in this report, which continues the series of bulletins published in 1944 and 1945. The survey is based upon operating statements contributed by a sample of independent firms throughout the country and covers restaurants with and without merchandise sales, coal and wood distributors, drug stores with and without soda fountain, jewellery stores, and tobacco stores"--p. 3.
