"This report was developed to update the European Commission on developments in Canada’s data protection framework, including the private sector privacy law, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), the public sector privacy law, the Privacy Act as well as the legislative framework within Canada that applies to access to personal information by public authorities. These reports are regularly provided to the European Commission to assist in fulfilling its obligations under Implementing Decision (EU) 2016/2295 to monitor Canada’s European Union adequacy designation"--Provided by publisher.
