Trend analysis for environmental data / by: S.R. Esterby.: En13-5/93-03E-PDF
"The recently heightened interest in the assessment of the current state of environmental conditions and the detection of any change in environmental conditions has led to a corresponding interest in statistical trend assessment methods. In this paper, the determination of any trend is considered as a part of the larger task of characterizing the variability of an environmental quality indicator. The features of several parametric and nonparametric methods are discussed with respect to their applicability for estimation and detection, the ability to handle changes of different forms, the inclusion of concomitant variables in the analysis and the inherent assumptions of the method. Examples of the analysis of water quality data using these methods are given"--Abstract.
