"The main objectives of the 2012/13– 2013/14 targeted surveys reviewed in this report were to generate baseline surveillance data on the bacterial pathogens Salmonella, Clostridium perfringens (C. perfringens) and Bacillus cereus (B. cereus), as well as on generic Escherichia coli (E. coli), an indicator of fecal contamination, in a variety of spices available in the Canadian market"--Executive summary, page 2.
