"During two months, May and June, 1922, we had an opportunity of seeing many lobster canneries in the Northern part of New Brunswick as a demonstrator of germ action to the canners. We have seen all the conditions of these lobster canneries and realized the many ways of a probable infection. We had a chance to collect a few cans of the so-called "black lobster", and we were able, through the kindness of Professor A.P. Knight and the courtesy of Dr. Huntsman, to study and to at least try to give our help in the fight against that problem of the blackening of the lobster"--Page [1].
