"Earlier studies, made with the juice from fish muscle, have shown that there are variations in the amount of the coaguable proteins due to changes occurring after death and have also suggested that certain of these proteins bear a direct relation to the changes of rigor mortis (Benson 1920). Other investigations in regard to the time till the onset of rigor and its passing have shown variations in these processes due to method of keeping (Panton 1921). The experiments, described here, were made to test these points further"--Page [1].
